It’s quite unfortunate how people of the jet age have decided to rather misuse the power of the internet, than using it in a constructive and in positive ways.
Now, cyber crime is the order of the day, as you find numerous people falling preys of these callous and heartless cyber crime perpetrators.
Let me quickly address this issue before it get out of hand.
Hackers now hack WhatsApp Accounts, although, they hack Facebook accounts too, but Whatsapp has been their perfect and easy spot these days.
They exploit people on your list and give them fake news.
They act on your integrity.
They will change your phone number to theirs and replace you in whatsoever group you belong. Unknown to you, your account will be used for various dubious acts online.
While you sleep at the comfort of you bed, they are awake, and aiming for their next victim, with your own account.
Just “a click” on a link by you ignorantly, is enough for them to siphon and drain you.
In order to prevent such a thing from happening to you because only God knows who the next victim will be.
Follow these steps:
1. Whatsapp Two Step Verification.
This is very easy to do.
Go to settings on your WhatsApp,
Click on Account,
Click on Two- step verification,
Enter pin,
Input your email address
And save, that’s all.
If someone wants to change it, WhatsApp will ask for the Two-step verification and without it the account won’t open.
So far you know your pin, Whatsapp is bound to ask you of your “Pin” at intervals of days. Make sure you use a pin you can always remember, even when under pressure or when you are at haste.
Also, cherish the pin, like you would cherish your ATM pin.
2. Do not Click on unknown links.
Do not make the mistake of clicking on a link from an unknown number or sources, either a DM or in a group.
These links are connected and very strong enough to review your profile, they maneuver their ways into your detail and the rest is history.
Lastly, Be very careful of any online business or transactions you intend to engage in.
Do not involve in any online transaction with someone you do not know well. So as to avoid not knowing whom to hold accountable for if duped.
Even if you know the person well, make sure your services or goods are delivered to you before you pay.
There is no excuse for ignorance. Now that you are aware, make sure not to be the next victim, and those around you.
