According to the reports received this afternoon, accident occur along Iseyin to Saki road. To be precise it happens in Sabe, a small town in Oke Ogun, Oyo State.
Reports says that their was no mortality rate recorded but injuries was recorded. The cause of the accident was reported to be the sudden burst of the back tire on speed, after the back tire got bursted the driver applied brake immediately which resulted to imbalance of the steering wheel and later resulted to the accident. Reports have it that, the victims were taken to the nearest hospital immediately in order to avoid further casualty.
According to reports delivered by our correspondents, we realise that Muslim Student Society of Nigeria (MSSN), TOPS campus chapter have organised an Orientation Programme for Fresh students on campus. The Orientation Programme is scheduled to last for Three (3) days consecutively. The scheduled dates are Wednesday, 18th to Friday, 20th of August 2021.
Precisely, the programme for the first day of the orientation week will commence by 12:00pm Nigerian time. Also, the first programme for the second day will commence by 2:00pm and the second programme for the day was scheduled to commence by 3:00pm. conclusively, the programme for the third day was scheduled to hold as jumaat service. Reports from our correspondents also says that notable lecturers will be present at the events which symbolise how prestigious the event will be.
After the Announcement of WASSCE commencement date (August 16, 2021), the latest development comes subsequently according to reports.
This was made known by the head of national office of WAEC in Nigeria, Mr. Patrick Areghan, at the news conference in Lagos on Tuesday. According to different reports, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that the National Identification Number (NIN) would become compulsory for registration of West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) from 2022.
Mr. Patrick Areghan also said that, All prospective candidate must register with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and get their NIN because NIN would become a major requirement for registration of WASSCE effectively from 2022. He said “No NIN, no entry”. He emphasized that the latest development was in line with the Federal Government’s Policy as directed by the Federal Ministry of Education.
Reports that the West Africa Examination Council ( WAEC) has declared August 16, 2021, as the date for the commencement of the 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The date was announced by the Head of the WAEC Nigeria office, Mr. Patrick Areghan, in Lagos on Tuesday.
Mr. Patrick Areghan said, in accordance with the Final International Timetable, the WASCCE (SC) 2021 will occur throughout the sub-region from Monday, 16h August to Friday, 8th October 2021.
He also stated that the 2021 WASSCE will be conducted for a period of seven weeks in Nigeria, saying, However, the examination will end in Nigeria on 30 September 2021.
Senate Committee on Constitution Review has recommended the creation of 20 new states, according to reports.
They also proposed that referendum be conducted for the 20 new states by the Independent National Electoral Commission with conditions.
Some of the proposed states are: – ITAI State (from Akwa Ibom State) – State status for the FCT -Katagum State from Bauchi State – Okura State from Kogi East – Adada State from Enugu State – Gurara State from Kaduna South – Ijebu State from Ogun State -Ibadan State from Oyo State – Tiga State from Kano State -Ghari State from Kano State – Amana State from Adamawa – Gongola State from Adamawa – Mambilla State from Taraba State – Savannah State from Borno State -Okun state from Kogi State. – Etiti State from the South East Zone – Orashi State from Imo and Anambra states -Njaba from the present Imo State -Excision of Aba State from Abia State; -Anioma State from Delta State – Torogbene and Oil River States, from Bayelsa Delta and Rivers states -Bayajida State from parts of Katsina, Jigawa, and Zamfara states.
State Police bill passed Earlier, The House of Representatives has passed for second reading, a bill seeking to amend the 1999 Constitution to allow creation of state police and legalise regional security outfits. The current police system will be decentralised by moving police from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent List.
Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary, Onofiok Luke, who sponsored the bill, said in the explanatory note that the bill seeks to alter the Constitution to provide for state police and other state government security services to enhance security and preservation of lives and properties in Nigeria.
The bill especially proposes an amendment to Section 197(1) by inserting new Paragraphs ‘e’ and ‘f’ to provide for State Police Council and State Police Service Commission, respectively.
The Second Schedule to the Constitution will also be altered in Part I by deleting Item 45 from the Exclusive Legislative List; and in Part II by inserting after Item 30 on the Concurrent Legislative List, new Items 31 and 32.
Igbo people want sixth state, says Uzodinma The Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma, has advocated for an additional state for the South-East region.
He said that Ndigbo would be proud of the country if a sixth state was created in the region. States in the region at the moment include Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia and Anambra while other geopolitical zones have at at least six states.

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, has declared Tuesday, 10th August 2021 as work-free day in the state to commemorate and celebrate the new Islamic year 1st Muharram (hijrah) 1443 AH.
The circular letter was conveyed widely by the secretary to the State Government on Friday, 6th August 2021. His Excellency has enjoined all Muslims and people of other religions to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and sustainabilty of the State in particular and the Country in general.
The Hijrah Public holiday was also declared by Osun State and Kebbi State. Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, has declared August 9 as Public Holiday for workers in the state in commemoration of Hijrah 1443 AH
Five prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps were reported dead when a vehicle conveying them to the North (Katsina State) for the batch B orientation course was involved in an autocrash in Abuja.
It was reported that the tragedy happened around 2:00am on Wednesday along the Abaji/Kwali axis of the ever busy Abuja – Lokoja highway, causing a traffic gridlock that lasted several hours.
The deceased includes Innocent Upere and Victor Akpan both graduate of mass communication, Akwa Ibom state Polytechnic. Miracle Asquo, a graduate of psychology, Stella Ekikoh also a graduate of Sociology and Anthropology and Coleman Ezuruike, a graduate of History and International Studies. The last three graduated from the University of Uyo.
The bodies were conveyed in a military plane and was received by the bereaved Families at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo.
Late Ms. Ekikoh, an indigene of Ekpeyong Ikak and late Mr. Akpan, an indigene of Nung Ukim Ikot, both in Ikono Local Government area were buried in their home towns on Wednesday.
Brigadier General Dominic Obukadata Oneya (retired) was born in May 26, 1948 and was reported dead on August 5 2021 at the age of 73 years old. The Former NFF President was reported dead in the early hours of today. It was gathered that Oneya died in his home at Effurun GRA in the Uvwie local government Delta State. His demise was confirmed by the incumbent NFF President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick. “Yes he is dead” he said.
The retired Brigadier General who hail from Agbarho kingdom in Ughelli, Delta State was an Administrator of Kano state from August 22, 1996 to September 1998 during the regime of General Sani Abacha then became an Administrator of Benue State from August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar, handing over power to the elected executive governor George Akume on 29 May 1999.
Later, he became Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association. Oneya served in various capacities in CAF committees and recently headed the Ministerial Committee on Reforms in Nigerian Football
