The Grand finale of the SBCS WEEK welcomed Important Invited Guests as the programme commenced. National Anthem and Saki Anthem was recited before the introduction of the guests.

Bashir Lawal, Dr. Y.Y. Olufemi, Mr. John Oladokun who is representing Dr. Tijani from NIHOTO from Oshogbo, Surveyor Badmus. Former Rector of TOPS in person of Mr. M.O. Oladeji, Chief Host in person of Barrister B.O. Olabode.
After the introduction, an Entertainer known as Mr. Alabi One present a Cultural Art Display. Meanwhile as the display is going on Another important Guest was introduce as Alhaji Rasheed Adegoke, Chief Bagii of saki land.
The first speech of the event was presented by the Dean of SBCS in person of Barrister B.O. Olabode. He start his speech by appreciating God the Almighty, who made everything possible. His presentation goes thus Quantum Leap into the Future: SBCS. sets for academic excellency being a title of a speech delivered by Barrister Bashir Olakunle Dean SBCS, the OKE – OGUN POLYTECHNIC, SAKI, 16th of September 2021, occasion of the school.
Before another speech was made, Olufunmi Olujinmi from the department of Local Government and Development Studies was called out to perform a cultural arts display called EWI.

Another Speech was delivered by Chief Bagii of saki land in person of Alhaji Rasheed Adegoke. He start by giving praises to Almighty Allah and then later recognise the presence of All the important invited guest. His speech topic was Legal studies is very important, meanwhile he advise the Dean of SBCS to work on establishing as many as language studies department in SBCS. He said he’ll relay the situation report to the his royal Majesty of saki land on the magnitude of the donation needed for the proposed projects.
Surveyor Jimoh also delivered another speech and he started by appreciation to the God Almighty and also recognise the presence of the invited guests, he promise to relay the situation report to his boss and he also donated the sum of #50,000 to the cause of the proposed projects.
Another speech was delivered by Mr. John Oladokun form NIHOTO Institute, osun. He also start by appreciation to the God Almighty and also recognise the presence of the Invited Guests. His speech goes thus: Whatever you want to become in life will be an instrument to your future, The world is waiting you hear your name. Student should not only focus on academic, in the present labour market, one should acquire another skill that will bring in additional income. He advice everyone to take note of 3 things in life. -Value Addition, -Human Capital, -Income Generating Activity. He said his donation capacity is to write a proposal to the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism in Nigeria, to build a learning center in the TOPS.
Surveyor Badmus Also presented an envelope in donating to the financial expenses for the Proposed Projects. Barrister Y.Y. also presented his speech as well as Former Rector of TOPS in person of Mr. M.O. Oladeji.
After the presentation of speech, a vote of thank was delivered by the former H.O.D. of Public Administration in person of Mr. Ajayi. After the vote of thanks National Anthem was recited as the programme ends at exactly 2:15pm.

The first lecture was delivered by Mr. J.O. Babalola Adigun, the deputy registra of TOPS. Before he started the delivering of the speech, his citation was read to the hearing of the participants. The theme of his lecture is JOB ETHICS IN HIGHER INSTITUTION IN NIGERIA. The Acting Rector later delivered a welcome address. He firstly Welcome a special Guest in person of Professor Ajala, First and foremost, he give thanks to God almighty for the programme, He appreciated the governing council of the entire institution in which co-incidentally Dean of SBCS happen to be a member of the governing council, He also recognise the presence of the former rector of the institution in person of Mr. M.O. Oladeji, He also thank Deans of every school, Head of Departments, Deputy Registra, Articulate ASUP, distinguish teaching and non Teaching and the students. He then said all protocols are duly observed.
The second lecture was delivered by Professor Aderemi Sulaimon Ajala, before he delivered his lecture, his citation was also read to the hearing of the participants. The topic for his lecture is Ethnography in humanity and social research. He announce his recognition for the Acting Rector and all other member of the invited guest. He start his speech with the introduction and definition of Ethnography, Ethnography is the the branch of anthropology that scientifically describes specific human cultures and societies. history of Ethnography. He start with Malinowski. Malinowski spent 20 years on research. Bronisław Kasper Malinowski was a Polish-British anthropologist whose writings on ethnography, social theory, and field research have exerted a lasting influence on the discipline of anthropology. Malinowski (1901-1921) Participant Observation, He also talk about Franz Boas 1911 – Quantitative Ethnography through HIRAF and 21st Century Ethnography E – Interview, Mixed methods.
He continues with his speech to talk about Procedures of Ethnography Research. – Proposing the research interest – Selecting the research site – Pre – Field Visitation – Designing research methodology – Sampling – Data collection – Data Analysis – Report Writting.
He also talk about the -Method of Ethnographic Data Collections -Modes of data collection -Conducts in Ethnography -Reading and Familiarizing with collected data -Challenges of Ethnographic research
After his speech, the first session of the programme was round up by vote of thanks from the chairman organising committee.
The second session of the programme entails a quiz competition among three Department from School of Business and Communication Studies (SBCS). The three department are – Public Administration – Business Administration – Local Government and Development Studies.
After the first round of the quiz competition. Public Administration department had bagged 8 point which make the department claimed the first position automatically. Meanwhile the department of Business Admininistration and Local Government and Development Studies scored 6 point each. The panel of judges had to throw questions of 4 points to the representatives of the each department. At the later instance, department of Business Admininistration scored the whole 2 point while Local Government and Development Studies only scored a point from the knockout round of the quiz competition. The winner deserve a prize, but it was said to be delivered on the 3rd day of the programme. The programme come to an end after the end of the quiz competition.
The Programme of School of business and communication studies began with the commencement of walk to fit which started by 9:00am. The walk to fit commenced from the school building in which involved all the members of the school i.e. both teaching staffs and non teaching staffs. During the walk to fit, members of the school paid a visit to the administrative block for the awareness of the activities to be held in the programme.
Continuously, they paid visit to school of Financial Management Studies which was accommodated by the dean of the school the person of Mr Oladeji A. S. Mr Oladeji made a speech of honor for the visitation of SBCS. In his speech, he said he is awed and highly esteemed for the visitation from the staffs and members of School of business and communication studies for the visitation and the presentation of the their programmes which commenced today. He made a high recognition of the regards SBCS have on campus be it the largest school and gifted with all activities productivity. He rounded his speech off that the reasons for the programme which took off today shall be fulfilled and glorified. The dean of SBCS, Barr. Bashir Olabode extended his esteem of honour and heartfelt consideration to school of Financial Management Studies for the support showed.
However, the SBCS members made a progress after the second visitation to pay visit to School the of Environmental. The staffs acknowledged the presence of SBCS and the commencement of the programme simultaneously, honoured the visitation as far as School of Environmental is concerned.
Moreso, the walk trek progressed and a visit to School of Engineering adjacent new 500 capacity. The school of Engineering staffs were marvelled seeing the members of SBCS and their presentation on the programme.
The penultimate visitation was from the Library. The Chief Librarian of the school library accommodated the visit of SBCS and made a say on the reasons for the commencement of the faculty programme. He rounded off his words with a say that education is the best legacy and that the commencement of the programme is for the betterment of the school as a whole that on behalf of the library staffs he extends his appreciation to the entire management of the SBCS and the students with a prayer that the reasons for the programme shall be met and fulfilled by God’s grace. The entire members encoded, amen. The members of SBCS departed from the school library joyfully.
After the departure from the school library, the SBCS paid the last visitation to school of science. The visitation was charming welcomed by the staffs and members of the faculty. Mr Osuntoki a staff from school of science made a speech that activities like these are pivotal and treasured predominantly seeing the best and popular faculty involved. He further said that SBCS is father to other schools in all activitoes be it socio, football and academics, that SBCS is blessed and will forever be. He rounded off by extending the consideration of the visitation by the staffs and members of the school.
The staffs and members departed from school of science and continued the celebration with joy to the school building direction. The walk to fit was a a glorious one with a word of appreciation from the dean of the school.
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (TOPS) chapter on Tuesday instructed its members to embark on a three-day warning strike from Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
The latest information was received after the decision was taken at an emergency congress of the union held on Tuesday, to deliberate on ASUP’s demands bordering on the smooth running of the Oyo state-owned institution.
According to a statement delivered at the end of the congress and signed by the Union’s Chairman and General Secretary, Comrade George A. Olaleye and Comrade Lawrence O. Ajiboye respectively, the three-day warning strike will be between Wednesday and Friday this week.
The Statement “At the emergency congress held on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, the union after extensive deliberation on her demands, which Management and Governing Council have failed to address is embarking on a three-day warning strike from Wednesday, September 15, 2021.
“Our demands in our correspondences to Management and Council are as follow: accreditation (full accreditation and reaccreditation); infrastructural decay; appointment of Deputy Rector; allowances (perquisite, honorarium and imprest); balance of 2019/2020 first semester of EPP allowance and payment of second semester; 2020 promotion exercise (non-payment of arrears) and 2021 promotion exercise”.
With this, academic activities will be paralysed at the institution for the remaining days of this week.
Series of rumor was heard over the weekend, which says the institution will be going on strike by Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, rumors carry as well that the school proposed an unidentified holiday next week.
Direct confirmation was collected from The Office of the Student Affairs that non of the information is true or genuine at the moment. Neither the Holiday nor the Strike is valid. Meanwhile, school activities commences as same from tomorrow, Monday 13th of September 2021, as usual.

Most Recent survey shows that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Lekki, the fast-developing upper-middle-class area of Lagos metropolis, as the new hub of internet-related fraud.
EFCC made the declaration via a statement signed by its Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, on Friday.
Uwujaren stated that data from the investigation of activities of the Lagos Command of the EFCC for the second quarter of 2021, “indicates that Lekki District is the preferred location for all manner of cyber fraud syndicates”.
The agency spokesman further disclosed that between April and June 2021, the Advance Fee Fraud and Cyber Crime Sections of the Command recorded a total of 402 internet-related fraud arrests.
He added that while the Advance Fee Fraud Section was responsible for 243 arrests, the Cyber Crime Section executed 18 sting operations which resulted in 159 arrests, from which 13 convictions have so far been recorded
The EFCC spokesman noted, “Of the 159 suspects arrested by the Cyber Crime Section, 70 are from Lekki, comprising communities such as Ajah, Badore, Victoria Garden City, Sangotedo, and Oniru.
“Ajah accounted for 24 suspects, while Oniru and Sangotedo had 14 and 13 suspects respectively. Badore had 8 suspects. Neighbouring Ikoyi and Eko Atlantic had 2 and one suspect each. Ikorodu and Alagbado on the Lagos Mainland make up the remainder.
The suspects are mostly millennials, with 82 of them aged between 25-34 years, which speaks to the fact that most of the individuals arrested are either still in school, recent graduates, or university dropouts.
“Analysis of the data from the Cyber Crime Section further shows that the dominant form of internet crime is Dating Scam/Online Dating Scam/Romance Scam. Sixty-Four percent (64%) of individuals arrested are involved in romance scam, followed closely by “Middle Man Scam” and “Picking” which account for 8% and 7% respectively of those arrested.
The 64% involved in the dating scam benefitted to the tune of N8, 310,000; $349,290 USD; £ 900; €10 and Cryptocurrency 0.17513.
“Other typologies of fraud identified include forgery, possession of fraudulent documents, spamming, credit card fraud, impersonation, rental scam, loan fraud, Business Email Compromise, Hacking, stealing, cheque scam, phishing, and money laundering.
“The data also reveals gift cards, at 39%, as the prevalent method employed by the suspects to access their illicit funds. It is followed by bank transfers at 27% and Cryptocurrency at 21%.
“A total of $12, 512.49USD was recovered from the e-wallet accounts of four suspects within the period,” the statement concluded.
Reports confimed it that some unknown guys attacked and brutally injured a student of this prestigious institution on Tuesday, 31st of August, at past 1:00pm.
It was confirmed that some unidentified youngsters who usually wander around the campus’ market, now attack students of this great citadel of learning on baseless excuse.
Unfortunately, a student of TOPS recently had his share of this malady, when he was attacked by these guys because he challenged them of attempting to hit him with their car. He was brutally handled by these guys tagged unknown at the moment.
According to the recent information gathered, the campus security officers have started their investigation on identifying these unknown guys in order to punish them according to the rules and regulations of the institution.
Ademola, a student of the institution, who happens to be the victim of the incident was later taken to the Student Affairs Office for proper handling after the incident.
Hopefully, the institution will now act swiftly on how to eradicate uncultured behaviour on campus, and also have zero tolerance against the presence of those who are not a student of this institution, roaming in and out of the institution aimlessly.

Reports Have it that an assumed TOPS student give up the ghost on Friday, 27th August 2021. Our correspondence reports that he was reported dead at Neagle Hotel Challenge 2.
Even though, hearsay have it that he was on drug before jumping to the swimming pool, Nevertheless, his actual cause of death is not yet known at the moment, but our correspondence are working on getting the full and factual details of the victim and the incident.
