SUG PRESENTED ANNUAL BUDGET TO THE STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES.

On Friday, November 4, 2022, the Oke-Ogun Polytechnic Saki, SUG presented its annual budget to the senate house, this budget was presented by the SUG Treasurer. The meeting commenced at exactly 1:00 pm at their meeting hall, the notion to commence the meeting was suggested by by Hon Emmanuel and seconded by Hon Demola.

DETAILS OF THE PROPOSED BUDGET
The SUE Treasurer presented the annual budget to the House Clerk, according to the budget presented each department’s expenses were attached and the following is the total amount of their proposed budget.

1. Social Director Department – One million Eight Hundred and twenty-nine Thousand nairas only (#1,829,000)
2. Public Relations Officer – One Hundred and Seventy- eight thousand five hundred naira only (#178,500)
3. Financial Department – One Hundred and thirteen thousand seven hundred naira only (#113,700)
4. Sports Department: Five Hundred and Eighty-two thousand naira only (#582,000)
5. Welfare Office – One Hundred and seventy-seven thousand naira only (#177,000)
6. President Office – Four hundred and Twenty-five thousand seven hundred naira only (#425,700)
7. SUG( Expenses for Menu-Menu) – Three hundred and Nineteen Thousand, Nine Hundred naira only. ( #319,900).
   After reading the SUG annual Budget, the Speaker presented the Budget to the budget chairman for proper review.

SUG SPORT COMPETITION
The speaker Hon Bidemi, reported that the SUG sports director has been consistently petitioning her as regards the SUG sports competition budget. However, she said she will get across to him after the budget has been reviewed. She then suggested that the members of the house make a quick decision on his proposed budget.
Hon Bukunmi asked if the budget is been considered because of the constant disturbing calls from the sports director.
The honorable Speaker said she is not saying the Sports department budget should be considered first but the semester is short and if the budget is not put into consideration the SUG cup will not hold.
The members of the legislative arm decided that the Sports director should proceed with the Sports competition on Monday with the little fund the department can raise pending the period the budget gets approved.

SUIEC
The speaker said the Student Union Independent Electoral Committee members will be presented to the Dean of Students Affairs next week. However, the supposed limited number of candidates to be screened for SUIEC should be 10, meanwhile, 5 top candidates will be accessed from the 10 in total, i.e a candidate from each school. and then they have a limit of people to make up the committee. Hon Demola suggested that since they still need more people for the committee, so they need to conduct another screening for the nominee.

SRC Sitting Allowance
The Honourables are now frowning about their unpaid sitting allowance by the SUG and the speaker instructed the clerk to write to the SUG president for their sitting allowance. The Sports Director and the DSA will be on sit in the next meeting which is scheduled on Tuesday, 8th November 2022.
Hon Emmanuel moved the adjournment of the meeting.
