The Managements of The Òkè-Ògún Polytechnic, Saki had an emergency meeting with the Students’ Representatives.
The meeting held on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022 at 12:44 pm. The attendees were, Four Principal Officers of the Polytechnic, Deans of Faculties, Senior Lecturers, SUE, SRC and all Departmental class Governors. The meeting began with an opening prayer by the SUG president,Echekwumene God’s power Kester.
The Acting Registrar, Mr. B.L. Ojo JP. MNIM announced that the date scheduled for exam has not been modified from Monday, August 29th, 2022. He said, despite the fact that the exam is fast approaching, a lot of students haven’t registered yet as a bonafide students of the institution.
“Students that are yet to complete their registration still have till Friday, August 19th, 2022 to do so, meanwhile the registration for VSESC is also part of the registration. It was reported that, some students manipulated their receipts and forged the school logo, this is still under investigation. Moreover, no student will be allowed to write exams without accurate registration.
Representative from Academic Affairs mentioned that, there are plans for the newly returning SIWES students and also the school timetable will be out latest Monday, August 15th, 2022.
A representative from Science Laboratory and Technology Department complained that, their results aren’t ready and they’re unable to connect to their websites.
Likewise, a representative from Civil Engineering Department reported that, part-time Students are facing issues on JAMB regularization, and it was said that the school hasn’t uploaded their details to the JAMB portal, the students complains were addressed by the school managements and it was said that all departments should paste their students 1st semester exams results before the week runs out.
The SUG President, Echekwumene God’s power Kester suggested that, the Managements should work on pasting previous session results; doing so will arouse some sets of students to register.
The Dean, School of Science, Mr. Jimoh K.O. praised the Managements for making up the gathering with the Students’ Representatives. He encourage the Managements to embrace the habit of organizing a conversation between the Managements and the Students before the commencement of exam.
The Students’ registrations are also important specially the payment of tuition fees, it is a must for all students to do so, and any students who fails to do so will face appropriate consequences.
The CSO implore the students to abide by the rules of restrictions of bikes and vehicles inside the school campus, he said further that, any students caught with the act will face the consequences.
The meeting was ended with a closing prayer by The Dean, School of Environmental Studies.
