THE SUG president Echekwumene God’s Power reported the efforts of the Students Union Executives on Psychometrics fees, he called upon the SUG Financial Secretary to give more update concerning psychometrics studies, he aforesaid that the new course introduced has noting to do with the senior executives that it’s from the government, this course was introduced by the Federal ministry of education. “We not emfolding this course actually means that our courses won’t be ascribed,”he said.

THE SUG president Echekwumene God’s Power reported the efforts of the Students Union Executives on Psychometrics fees,

He called upon the SUG Financial Secretary to give more update concerning psychometrics studies, Comrade Dayo (SUG: financial secretary) aforesaid that the new course introduced has nothing to do with the with the school management that it’s from the government, this course was introduced by the Federal ministry of education. “We not emfolding this course actually means that our courses won’t be ascribed,”he said.

He said, “The International Psychometrics Center”(IPC)has liaised with the NBTE/NYSC and any student from any institution who refuses to take the course will not be enlisted for NYSC and he/she will not be issued an accomplished certificate”.i.e.if you are to graduate as a HND student without psychometric studies, a certificate will be issued out as just NATIONAL DIPLOMA without the addition of HIGHER to it”. So,the SUG president impelled that, it’s better to go for the course so as to evade the wasting of time on schooling.

Suggestions were offered by some attenders that,”since it is beneficial to all,we should be ready to concur with the psychometrics protocols”, all the attendees agreed.

When is the actual moment the course will start?”a question was asked. So many notions were provided to that (question). The SUG president, Echekwumene God’s Power and the stakeholders concluded that,the course should be offered next semester; And memo’s should be released to the students for the postponement of the course.

Moreover,the president mentioned that there are some talks fleeing around that some Polytechnics in Oyo state are not offering the course (psychometrics). “Those schools accreditations haven’t lapsed but the course was recommended in TOPS because our recognition has declined, so this is the reason why we must embrace this course in order to avoid any negative side effects that may came out of not offering the course(PSYCHOMETRIC) in future,” he testified.All stakeholders suggested that,psychometrics studies should start from last semester.

One of the attendees said, the institution has no proper internet installations in which can impede the effectiveness of students studying this course.

The SUG president reported, on his tireless efforts on using of bandwidth around campus. “The option given is that, it’s either we pay higher rates for bandwidth or we discard bandwidth payment,” he said. Some suggestions were raised that there should be benefits from the little paid for and some suggested that the internet fees should be scrapped.

In conclusion,after all the propositions, the house decided that the Managements should make an estimation for the internet fees students have been paying for since all these periods of time.
