REPORTS OF THE FIRST SRC SITTING.

According to the report from the meeting with the Honorables on the 22nd of June, 2022. The meeting commenced by 12:43pm. The agendas of the meeting are listed below :

-Familiarity-Setting up committee

-Setting up committee

-ID Cards issue

-Observing of the protocold

-President of the department threatening the Students

-Addressing of Students by the SRC

-Allowing of bikes and vehicles by the Honourables

-Immoral dressings

-Issues of bike fares

Firstly, the Council talked about the how presidents of different department threaten their course mates. It was said that if they did not dance to their tunes, they will fail them academically. The council agree to look into the matter.

However, one of the Honorables asked that; is it right for an honorable to ride a bike into the school?  A member of the council replied that, since there is no evidence of being an honorable, it shouldn’t be so. In addition to that, a member of the council also said he think it’s not permitted for the honourable to bring in vehicle since they are representing the Students; that they should abide by the rules and regulations of the institution he further advice that they are for the students and they should partake in what ever the students are passing through

Immoral dressings Students was also addressed. It was said that the security guards were being biased sometimes, in which some set of students may dress grossly and will still be permitted to enter the campus. One of the Honorables replied that sometimes it’s not the fault of the security guards, some Students come into the institution with bikes and vehicles and it’s not possible for the security men to stop all vehicles and bikes in other to check the Students’ dressings.

The Council suggested that the rule of entering the school campus by ID cards should be implemented, which mean without ID card, no student should be allow to come in. But for the freshers that are yet to get ID cards, it will be appropriate if they can come along with their acceptance fee receipts, therefore in the process of checking their ID card or acceptance fee, their dressings can also be check properly, including the Students on bikes and in the cars. Also, the increment of bike fares was also deliberated on. However, a suggestion was made that the SAO and the SUG should be informed to address the issue in order to call the bike riders’ chairman to a notice.

Present at the first Students Representative Council(SRC)are sixteen (16) Representatives out of twenty (20)
