FIBSU to halt EXCOS Nomination for now.

By, Licit.

A Report from Press Council Correspondence says, the DSA ultimately seems to be an Office of Fairness indeed, regarding the latest memorandum released concerning Federation of Ibadan Students’ Union(FIBSU).

The Office is solemnly entrusted with the interest of the students and it’s actually doing the assignment right.

As we all know that, FIBSU’s Executives are always by Appointment or Nomination not by Election. This has caused some internal ruckus which might later lead to unnecessary disrupt of peaceful environment around the institution. DSA has taken it as a mandate assignment and has suspends the FIBSU’s Excos Nomination on the Grand ceremony of FIBSU which we all know as Amala Day.

Although, the Ceremony is not on halt for any reason, but the new Excos nomination should be on hold for now.

Democracy is a government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised by them directly or indirectly through a system of representation usually involving periodically free and fair elections. More so, this is 21st century, we need to give the students the right to choose who they want as leaders not by choosing for them.

In Fairness, advisers to the associations will definitely agree to this if no ulterior motive is being held.

According to reports from our correspondences, the Students will be so glad if all Departmental and other recognised associations on campus will be fair in selecting the new executives of their respectively association. Let the students choose who they want.

GREAT NIGERIAN STUDENTS! GREAT TOPSITES!
