The Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, has declared Tuesday, 10th August 2021 as work-free day in the state to commemorate and celebrate the new Islamic year 1st Muharram (hijrah) 1443 AH.
The circular letter was conveyed widely by the secretary to the State Government on Friday, 6th August 2021.
His Excellency has enjoined all Muslims and people of other religions to use the occasion to pray for the peace, unity and sustainabilty of the State in particular and the Country in general.
The Hijrah Public holiday was also declared by Osun State and Kebbi State. Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, has declared August 9 as Public Holiday for workers in the state in commemoration of Hijrah 1443 AH
