It was indeed a sight to behold yesterday,4th of February,2020,as there was a very massive turn out of the newly admitted students(freshers) of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic,Saki,at the school’s new 500 capacity hall where the opening event of the Orientation programme for freshers was held.
As stated in the memo earlier circulated by the management to mandate it on all freshers to attend the programme could be the reason for this massive turnout,as students where even found hanging around outside the Hall as there was no more space to accommodate them in the hall.
The opening event of the programme which commenced after some minutes from the scheduled time,later ended at exactly 12:44pm and was suspended to continue the next day,after the dignitaries and concerned school management body present at the event had given their speeches of admonitions and as well answered several questions asked by the students present at the event.
The event had the presence of the School’s Acting Rector, Esv K.O Ogunmola,acting Registrar,Mr R.F Adeniji and also the Directorate of the Students’ Affairs which is headed by Mr O.M Adeoti.
The Students’ Union President Elect, Mr Husssein Akeem Adewale,along side with his cabinet were present on seat and also had to give his speech as a closing remark to the event.
After the event,students were later directed to some of the important places and spot needed to be known on the campus,such as the Administrative Block, Busary, Medical Health Center,Library,to mention a few.
